Spring into Fashion

Me oh my spring is in full force and we at SOMO Creative are soaking up all the goodness that Mother Nature has blessed us with thus far. Blooms, blossoms and the sweet downhill ride into Summer means warmer weather, and is the perfect excuse to swap your winter coat for a sassy trench, your mulled wine for a bottle of champers and get your A into G to prep for all those spring shindigs on the horizon. In our fashion focussed Spring issue, we get all up in the fashion business of Kiwi couture queens Karen Walker and Margarita Robertson (of NOM*d) and chat to them on how they get their creative juices flowing to produce their iconic collections, step into the life of Ballantynes’ resident style maven Josie Pasane who walks us through her envy-inducing day as a Stylist, go behind the scenes at The Crossing’s Summer Loving shoot and compile a seriously hot smorgasbord of trends and products to keep your spring looks on point. We take our well-being to new heights by tapping the genius of Dr Libby who spills the beans on how to unveil your natural glow and we up our home and lifestyle game with the city’s leading players on the scene; Mary Turnbull who drops the deets on how to take your house from drab to fab, and the lads from CoLab Architecture and Paul Roper-Gee from Canopy Landscape Architects who school us on how to create an architectural eternal style and how to nail stunning contemporary gardens and outdoor spaces. We satiate our travel bug and increase our chances of snagging a lux bargain (or depleting our bank accounts) in Europe’s fashion capitals and head to Paris for the weekend with Discover Travel. We may or may not also venture to some of the world’s highest stylish hospo hotspots to knock back a few bevvys. And of course, once we’re back in the Motherland we bring you the funkiest eats, boutiques, gig and digs to add to your ever-growing list because, let’s be real, when the weather blooms so does Christchurch! So get out and amongst all our mini-metropolitan has to offer.

Enjoy!
